Going live on Popshoplive may seem scary, but it's so much fun for both you, the seller, and your audience. We've gathered a list of recommended "pre-live" steps as well as how to manage and interact with your audience once live.
You can go live from both the Web and the Popshoplive app. We walk through both processes below.
Through Mobile App
- Begin by clicking on the Avatar icon located in the bottom right corner of your screen. From the menu, select Start a Live Show.
- Once selected, you’ll need to enter the show details, such as the title and description. After filling out the necessary information, you have the option to either go live in Practice mode or go live publicly.
- Practice Mode: If you choose to go live in Practice Mode, only the people you allow access—by sharing a private link—will be able to view the live show. This is ideal for testing before going live to a wider audience.
- Public Mode: If you do not select Practice Mode, your live show will be visible to everyone on the platform.
- Next, you’ll need to select your preferred fulfillment method. You can choose between Shipping or Pickup. If you want to enable both Pickup and Shipping, ensure that your pickup address is updated in your account settings.
- After selecting your fulfillment option, click Next.
- You may be prompted to confirm whether you want to register the show in an event. You can either continue as is or choose to associate your live show with a specific event.
- Once you’re ready to go live, click the Go Live button. A countdown from 5 to 0 will appear, and after that, you’ll be live and ready to interact with your audience.
Through Web
- Click on your profile located at the top-right corner of Popshoplive on the web.
- Select “Start a Live Show” from the Home section on your profile page.
- Once selected, you’ll need to enter the show details, such as the title and description. After filling out the necessary information, you have the option to either go live in Practice mode or go live publicly.

What is Practice Mode?
It is an option selected when scheduling or starting a live show, allows only those with a direct link to view the show. Practice Mode shows are not searchable or discoverable on Popshoplive.
Uses for Practice Mode:
- Practice: Familiarize yourself with the "Go Live" process, practice your opener, adding products, sending gifts, etc. Invite friends or coworkers to join via the link and practice with a live chat.
- Private Sales: Host a show in Practice Mode for VIPs or a select group of customers. Anyone with the show link can access, view, interact with, and purchase from your live show.
Important: Once a show is scheduled or started in Practice Mode, it cannot be made fully visible. Similarly, a show in "Visible" mode cannot be switched to Practice Mode
What is Green Room?
The Green Room is the final step before you go live. Here, you are not yet live in front of your audience which gives you the space and opportunity to make sure everything is ready to go live.
Use the Green Room to:
- Add products you plan to feature in the live show.
- Confirm your camera angle is perfect.
- Adjust your background.
- Check audio and lighting.
When you are ready, tap Go Live. This starts the 5-4-3-2-1 countdown, and then you're live!
